Mote

Made for the GMTK 2025 Game Jam

You act as a friendly mote, here to help a desperate salaryman stuck in a black company. Help him get through his day by playing minigames. He is stuck in a cycle of "Wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat". What can you do to help him?

Notes: 

There are a total of 10 days of content in the game. That include events, environment changes and minigame changes.

The "Hold at the yellow line" means hold down the left mouse button there.

For the Alarm Clock minigame, the further you are into the game the harder it is to wake him up, so you'd need to hit the clock multiple times.

The actual hitpoint for the mouse is top left of the icon, not the center of the Mote.

The game is... not thoroughly tested. You might encounter game-breaking bugs.

Some after words:

When the Jam began I had this grand idea of breaking the loop, of the main character having a magical mote of dust that helps him out on his daily life, but it is all really a figment of his imagination, until he realizes there's no one there to break the loop for him but himself. But the execution of the idea... didn't quite land. Funnily enough, working on this game was basically "Wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat", which is ironic, but it is what it is.

Despite this, it is something I'm proud of. It might not be the best game, but it is a manifestation of my pent up emotions , and it feels great to get it off my chest, through a medium I love. Anyways, sorry for the somber story. Hopefully you somewhat enjoyed the game, and definitely enjoy this game jam to your hearts' content. <3
